The Vice President of Colombia, Martha Lucía Ramírez, was in Paraguay and said that every fortune must be explained, especially when someone is in the public sector.
The Vice President and Foreign Minister of Colombia -at the same time- is a veteran of public administration, involved in cases where her relatives are also involved in transnational crimes, and she had a very ugly experience in Montevideo-Uruguay, when a Colombian woman snapped at her all the cases that have her and her family as investigated.
What is also important to understand behind all this is the level of response from the Colombian official, who said “I am one of the few who can feel honored by my ethics and my honesty in Colombia.” I don’t think that the more than 40 million Colombians who in recent years have been in the news for drug trafficking, for a civil war that continues -in some way- despite the fact that the peace agreement was signed with the FARC, and where we still have a lot to learn so as not to end up in the same ditch for both Colombians and Paraguayans.
The expression of Martha Lucía Ramírez when she said goodbye to a President who was not very interested in talking with the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs, it seemed from his clothing, was that Paraguay and Colombia have a common destiny. I hope it’s not tragic.
