During the chapter of tributes of the Chamber of Senators, Georgia Arrúa, national senator for the Patria Querida party (PPQ), requested that a bill be discussed in eight days, by which the remains of Remberto Giménez, (1898 – 1977 ), are transferred to the Pantheon of Heroes.
Giménez was a Paraguayan composer who in 1933 arranged and developed the version of the national anthem that our country continues to use today.
“We request that Remberto Giménez enter the Pantheon of Heroes, as was done with other people who have placed the country in renowned places. As well as Augusto Roa Bastos. This is the moment when we must once again feel pride in our country. We need their best men to get ahead”, argued the legislator.
Finally, the legislators approved in their majority, to deal with the initiative this Thursday, May 26.
