The driver who caused the death of a motorcyclist is sent to jail for 120 days

After sitting on the defendant’s bench, Emanuel Omonte Fernández, 30, fHe was sent to the Palmasola prison with preventive detention for 120 days.

Omonte was the driver of the black vehicle that was involved in an accident on the fifth ring road of Moscow Avenue, where a motorcyclist died when he was hit from the front, and after the fact he fled without rendering aid.

The precautionary measures hearing took place after 10:00 this Friday, in the DM-5 court, where the 9th Criminal Investigation Judge, Roberto Arias, ordered the extreme measure of preventive detention for the accused.

Arias explained at the hearing that the term of six months of preventive detention was not issuedbut less time, for which he ordered the 120 days of deprivation that will be computed from this Friday.

The wife of the deceased motorcyclist, Rossío Karen Terrazas, claimed the driver when leaving the hearingquestioning why she had taken her husband’s life and left her two orphaned children.

Pablo Fernando Padilla Rojas, 27, died on his way to his children’s school to pick them up, Well, he was hit by the vehicle that his friend and former schoolmate, Emanuel Omonte, was driving when he passed a bus.

The accused assured that he contacted the family of the deceased and promised to help them; however, this promise does not calm the pain of the relatives, who ask for the maximum penalty.

“They allege that he showed up before 24 hours to the Police and that is a lie, because he ran away, he was hiding. He showed up when his family was arrested and the vehicle was found,” the widow said.
