Embassy of Uruguay invites you to extend a helping hand through blood donation

Tomorrow, Friday, May 20, a blood donation post will be set up at the Uruguayan embassy headquarters starting at 9:00. The solidarity activity will be carried out within the framework of the National Blood Program of the Ministry of Health.

The initiative responds to the need for blood donors, which intensified after the pandemic, in the midst of the dark moment experienced from the health point of view, highlighted the ambassador of the Republic of Uruguay in Paraguay, Fernando Sandín Tusso.

«Uruguayans and Paraguayans who want to get closer to roll up the sleeve of their jacket or buso and want to put their arm in are always welcome. The ambassador is going to be the first that he is going to donate », he highlighted.

The Uruguayan embassy will carry out this initiative for the second time as a way of thanking the Paraguayan community, Sandín said.

“It is a humble, but heartfelt return to a society. It seems to us a positive way to make a certain return to everything we received in Paraguay during the stay here », she said.

Paraguay and Uruguay have always strengthened their diplomatic relations based on joint support, said the ambassador. Sandín also recalled that during the height of the pandemic, Uruguay donated biologicals to our country and that putting into practice acts of solidarity such as blood donation campaigns reinforce the brotherhood between both nations.
