The World Health Organization on Thursday announced the emergency approval of Chinese company CanSino Biologics’ Convidencia vaccine, as Beijing battles a resurgent Covid pandemic.

The vaccine is based on a modified human adenovirus, is administered in a single dose and is recommended by the WHO for all age groups from 18 years of age, according to a WHO statement.
