LGTBI Movement of Venezuela celebrates the International Day Against Homophobia with workshops

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transsexual and Intersex Movement (LGTBI) of Venezuela celebrated this Tuesday the International Day against Homophobia, holding workshops and talks in the Cathedral parish of the Libertador municipality of the Capital District.

In the place, the representative of the LGTBI Movement in the country, Kody Camposstated: “We celebrate May 17, the International Day Against Homophobia, since last year the National Assembly declared this day against discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.”

Campos asserted that this activity allows the recognition of fair struggles for equality, respect for the other person regardless of their diversity.

“We commemorate those who have died in this fight through hate crimes, at the same time we celebrate that finally the Attorney General of the Republic, (Tarek William Saab), creates the Prosecutor’s Office No. 98 to deal with cases of crimes against our community”, highlighted the activist.

Finally, he said that they will go to the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) to request answers on a series of lawsuits.
