Santiago drivers protest against construction of the cable car and the monorail

Hundreds of public transportation drivers in Santiago, They protested this Tuesday with a lighting of candles in the monumental area against the construction of the cable car and the monorail.

The demonstrators shouted slogans and carried banners with messages expressing their repudiation, to the collective transport system initiated by the central government.

The president of the National Central of Transport Workers (CNTT), Juan Marte explained that with the launch of the monorail and the cable car, more than 12,000 drivers will be left without work.

“Here there are twelve thousand men conching, and three or four mouths depend on each driver who will be left without the sustenance of their families,” said the unionist.

Marte trusts that the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader Corona, desists from these works.
