The Automotive Tramway Union (UTA) announced a collective strike of 72 hours to the interior of the country scheduled for this Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, this due to the lack of agreements in relation to wages with the Ministry of Labor.
The association demands from the Government a wage increase equal to that of the AMBA, so in the absence of responses, they announced the measure of forcewith which the collective strike It started at 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
However, the UTA confirmed that the collective strike It will not affect the 2022 census scheduled for this Wednesday, May 18, the day on which census takers will be able to access the transportation system for free.
Once the survey is over, the strike will resume and will be extended Thursday and Friday, because as announced by the UTA “We are not going to allow them to condemn us to poverty wages. That is why we ratify the union action measure for 72 hours”.
In addition, the organization blamed “all the consequences of any union action measure on the total refusal to agree on the salaries of passenger transport workers in the interior of the country”
For this reason, they insist that their “request has been clear at all times, intending only to work, and collect the wages that legitimately correspond to us”, for which they hope that negotiations will be reopened.
“We will continue to make ourselves available to all parties involved in the negotiation, during the course of this union action measure, in order to achieve the salary agreement that transport workers deserve.”
Which lines will stop operating during the collective strike
The measure of force taken by the organization will affect the interior of the country, so There will be no transport lines in Córdoba, Rosario, Santa Fe, Salta, Tucumán, Neuquén, Corrientes and Jujuy.
However, the union announced that more provinces could be added to the call, a decision that would be confirmed in the next few hours.
