Santo Domingo.- An agreement to provide services in different medical specialties at no cost to military retirees, just by presenting their Senasa-Contributive Plan insurance cards and that of the Retirement Board, was signed with the Cruz Jiminián and Oftalmológica clinics of Santo Domingo by the Ministry of Defense and the Retirement Board and Pension Fund of the Armed Forces.
There are several medical areas in which retired soldiers will have services, after signing the agreement with the Cruz Jiminián clinic.
While in the Ophthalmology Clinic, eye exams, laser diagnostic procedures, surgery and the purchase of eyeglass frames can be performed.
The pact resulted from the commitment of President Luis Abinader to ensure that retired soldiers have quality of life at this stage, in which their health conditions deserve special attention.
Upon signing the agreement, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, thanked the representatives of the signatory medical entities for taking into account the military pensioners of the Armed Forces “after they have given their lives to the service of the Homeland ”.
Meanwhile, Major General Carlos A. Fernández Onofre, president of the Retirement Board, assured that doctors have supported active and passive members of the Armed Forces by providing quality health services.
Doctors Félix Antonio Cruz Jiminián and Herbert Stern Díaz, from the Ophthalmological Clinic, were in the activity.
