José Carlos Gómez Medina, the alleged emissary who would have sent the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Felix Cheroto talk to the employer Zamir Villaverde in the Ancón I prison, he was in said prison on April 27, according to a report by Cuarto Poder.
The Sunday reported that Gómez Medina is, since October 2018, advisor to Omar Méndez Irigoyen, head of the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE). He then showed images from the prison’s security cameras, where the alleged emissary is seen walking very close to Villaverde down a corridor.
The program also assured that INPE sources confirmed that José Gómez was in the prison by order of Omar Méndez with two assignments: to verify that there were no technical problems for the virtual connection that morning with the Congressional Oversight Commission and to ensure that that the three summoned that day, April 27, speak with their lawyers before testifying.

Likewise, the journalistic report indicated that the adviser to the head of INPE appeared in front of the inmates, among whom was Villaverde, so that they could talk with his defense.
According to the account given by the businessman on May 11 at the Supervisory Commission, which is investigating the Sarratea case, on that occasion Gómez Medina took him to a room with the other three under investigation so that they could communicate with their lawyers, but at one point he called him aside and told him that the head of the Ministry of Justice was waiting for him to speak with him. via satellite phone.
“I decided, Mr. Congressman, not to call for security because I can think that they are recording and that, suddenly, I do not know what they can tell me and that could complicate my situation in this prison and I decided not to speak or in some investigation. (…) And I told him that he better bring the message and the message was… and I decided not to call”, was what Villaverde declared in front of the parliamentarians.
Fourth Estate also detailed that in that room to which he was taken Zamir Villaverde there are no security cameras, so the version he provided cannot be confirmed, but neither can it be denied.
