The municipality of Angélica, in Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), will elect this Sunday (15) the occupants of the positions of mayor and vice mayor until the end of 2024, to complement the contested mandate of João Cassuci (PDT), elected in 2020 with sub judice plate registration.
Around 8,600 people are expected to participate in the by-election in the 29 polling stations spread across five polling places. The election will start at 7:00 am and end at 5:00 pm. Four candidates are running for mayor.
According to the Regional Electoral Court of Mato Grosso do Sul (TRE-MS), 38 ballot boxes will be used for the election, 10 of which are contingency, in cases where it is necessary to replace one at the polling places.
About 300 people, including civil servants, collaborators, assistants, poll workers and civil and military police, were assigned to help carry out the election, in addition to the Judge and the representative of the Electoral Public Prosecutor’s Office.
Currently, the position of mayor has been exercised by the mayor of Angélica, Almir Fagundes.
