The group of congressmen of the teachers’ block who submitted their irrevocable resignation to the caucus of Peru Libreled by legislator Álex Paredes, spoke from outside Parliament and read a statement regarding the decision made public last Tuesday, May 10.
In said statement, the parliamentarians pointed out that their departure from the ruling party is in the exercise of their democratic rights and consequently with their positions and convictions.
“The decision to withdraw from the Peru Libre bench is made in the exercise of our democratic right, the same one that is consistent with our convictions. and unrestricted respect for the constitutional state of law”, the document reads.
In addition, they asserted that they are aware that the country requires that all democratic forces develop an agenda that allows strengthening governance and stability, “necessary for the sustainable development of our country and boost our growth”.
Likewise, the congressmen of the magisterial bloc They thanked the Peru Libre party for giving them the opportunity to work with them and assured that they will continue working with them while trying to make decisions in favor of citizenship.
“In that framework, We reaffirm our commitment to continue working in favor of Peru, the demands of its citizens and the Peruvian teachers”, the statement concluded.
The document bears the signatures of parliamentarians Elizabeth Medina, Francis Paredes, Germán Tacuri, Segundo Quiroz, Paul Gutiérrez, Lucinda Vásquez, Katy Ugarte, Pasión Dávila, Edgar Tello and Alex Paredes.
