“We urge the authorities of Mexico City to respect our protest actions by refraining from removing the faces of our disappeared women and men. In the event that they are withdrawn, we will post them as many times as necessary,” warned members of the United Forces for Our Disappeared in Mexico (FUNDEM) organization in their manifesto.

They demanded effective action from the federal authorities to stop the increase in disappearances, as well as to locate all the people who have been reported.
“Today La Glorieta de las and los disappeared is born, as a symbol of the constant absence that is lived in thousands of homes”, they expressed.
With this decision, the new space for reminders and protests would be added to the “route of memory”.
This is formed by the anti-monuments +43, for the disappeared normalistas in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero; 49 ABC, for the child victims of the incident in the nursery of that name, in Sonora; that of 1968 by the student movement of that year; the Antimonumenta, for femicides in Mexico, located in front of Bellas Artes, and La Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan, located where the Christopher Columbus Monument used to be, in Reforma.
The action carried out today is part of a series of activities to demand the search for people and an end to disappearances, which the United Nations Organization (UN) estimated at 100,000 by the end of 2021.
Tomorrow the organizations of searchers will go to the Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) and on Tuesday, May 10, they will participate in the XI March of National Dignity Mothers looking for their sons and daughters, truth and justice, which will bring together thousands of people from across the country who have a missing relative.
