On April 22, the president of the Association of Venezuelan Airlines (ALAV), Humberto Figuera, reported that international airlines are expected to resume their flights with Venezuela.
The governor of Amazonas, Miguel Rodríguez, announced that from next June the Maiquetía-Puerto Ayacucho flights will be restored, with the aim of activating tourism and the possibility that citizens have the service as an option to travel to the center of the country.
Rodríguez thanked the government of Nicolás Maduro and the Vice Minister of Air Transport, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, for their “so timely, rapid and determined response that will greatly help Amazonians.” He assured that he will continue working on the big issues, “without getting distracted, without wasting time, just working tirelessly for our beloved Amazonian land, we know that together we will be able to consolidate the new Amazon.”

He noted that Air Portugal will have two flights a week from now on and Air France is expected to be reactivated soon.
Figuera stressed that Venezuelans need direct connections with other countries, “these air connections are prosperity.” He assured that the air authorities are waiting for Avianca to return to the country, as he pointed out that it is a possibility and it would be a better connection group than the one before the pandemic.
