Brazil recorded 6,006 cases of covid-19 and 13 deaths in 24 hours, according to the epidemiological bulletin released this Sunday (8) by the Ministry of Health. The total since the beginning of the pandemic is 30,564,536 cases and 664,139 deaths.
According to the bulletin, there are 270,977 cases under follow-up and 29,629,420 people have recovered from the disease, which corresponds to 96.9% of those infected.
This Sunday’s information does not include updated data for the Federal District, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Rio de Janeiro, Roraima and Tocantins. Mato Grosso do Sul did not update the number of deaths.
States
São Paulo is the Federation unit with the highest number of cases (5.42 million) and deaths (168,330). In terms of the number of cases, the Southeast state is followed by Minas Gerais (3.36 million) and Paraná (2.47 million). The lowest numbers of cases were recorded in Acre (124,969), Roraima (155,525) and Amapá (160,400).
In terms of the number of deaths, the second and third states with the most deaths are Rio de Janeiro (73,543) and Minas Gerais (61,377). The lowest numbers are in Acre (2,002), Amapá (2,132) and Roraima (2,151).
Vaccination
The Ministry of Health reported that 418.81 million doses of vaccine against covid-19 were applied in Brazil, of which 175.16 million were the first dose, 155.72 million were the second dose and 4.84 million were single doses.
Also, 77.57 million booster doses, 2.13 million second booster doses and 3.37 million additional doses were applied.
