The Ministry of Health (Minsal) reported 2,926 new cases of Covid-19 in Chile, with a positivity rate of 5.97% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 49,868 PCR tests and antigen tests, while the daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 9.22%.
As reported by the Minsal, at the national level, the new confirmed cases of the last 7 days vary by 23% compared to the previous 7 days, while the new cases of the last 14 days vary by -11% compared to the previous 7 days. 14 days prior.
According to the health authority, five regions decrease their new confirmed cases in the last 7 days, while twelve do so with the cases of the last 14 days.
Of the total number of new cases, 32% are diagnosed by antigen test, 43% originate from active case finding (BAC) and 22% of those reported are asymptomatic. While the Metropolitan Region presents 26% due to antigen, 36% due to BAC and 16% of reported cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are the Metropolitan, Valparaíso, Magallanes and O’Higgins.
Meanwhile, the Magallanes region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Metropolitan, Aysén and Valparaíso regions.
11,845 active cases and 15 deaths on the last day
According to today’s report, of the 2,926 new cases of Covid-19, 1,700 correspond to symptomatic people and 478 do not present symptoms. In addition, 748 Positive PCR tests were recorded that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 3,576,139. Of that total, 11,845 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,506,971.
Regarding deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 15 deaths from causes associated with the disease caused by coronavirus. The total number of deceased amounts to 57,629 in the country.
To date, 175 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 127 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 337 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 49,868 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 37,312,893 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 5.97% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 9.22%.
Regarding the Sanitary Residences, there are 28 accommodation facilities, with a total of 2,463 beds. The actual occupation at the national level is 29%, leaving a total of 1,433 beds available for use.
