They arrest three people with record shipments of marijuana: more than 1.5 tons

Three people were arrested in Rivera while moving 1,682 marijuana bricks in three trucks, weighing 1,577.8 kilos. It was a record seizure in Uruguaysources from the Ministry of the Interior reported to The Observer.

It happened on the night of this Thursday, around 10:30 p.m., under the Riguasu operation. Another truck, cash in three coins, and cell phones were also seized. The detainees are Uruguayan, and are 28, 31 and 36 years old.

In September of this year, 51.9 kilos of marijuana were also seized. For that fact, a 42-year-old man with various criminal records was charged.

Rivera’s 3rd shift prosecutor’s office is in charge of the investigation, together with the General Directorate for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking and the Departmental Anti-Drug Brigade.

They transported 1,682 marijuana bricks weighing 1,577 kilos with 894 grams
