Iturralde referred in the last hours to one of the most controversial bills presented by Cabildo Abierto, referring to the possibility of granting house arrest to people over 65 years of age, which includes the authors of crimes against humanity in Uruguay.
Speaking to the Universal radio program “Punto de Encuentro”, Iturralde considered that “the military should not be treated differently from how the general regime is given.”
He indicated that it is an initiative to which a solution must be found, it must go hand in hand with respect for all laws. “Crimes against humanity have to be treated differently, but neither do we plant ourselves in an issue that is more about revenge than justice.”

The president of the Nationalist Directorate questioned that in the past period “there was a required soldier who crossed into Brazil every day, there were no controls, and the investigations were reserved.”
