Table members of political organizations attended, at the national level, the first training session organized by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE)with a view to the internal elections on May 15 that will take place within the framework of the 2022 regional and municipal elections.
Both in Lima and in the provinces, the attendance of the affiliates of the political organizations that will hold the position of polling station member took place from the early hours of the morning. In all cases, various security protocols were applied against COVID-19.
During the activity, the polling station members received all the necessary information to hold office during the installation, voting and counting. They also had training material, similar to what they will use in the elections, and equipment that allowed them to train in the use of the Technological Solution to Support the Count (STAE).
The second day of training will be held on May 7 at the same educational institutions published in the ONPE website.
What will the election day of May 15 be like?
For the election of May 15, the members of the polling stations must meet at the corresponding polling place from 06:00 hours so that the voting tables begin to function from the 07:00 hours. The installation of the polling station will be recorded in the electoral act.
For the installation of the polling station, the presence of three polling station members is required. In the event that until 7 in the morning the number of members required for the operation of the polling station is not available, whoever assumes the presidency will invite the voters of the row that belong to that polling station to occupy the positions that are vacant. .
If after 07:00 a.m. no polling station member, regulars or substitutes, shows up, the coordinator of the ONPE will ask the president of the previous or subsequent polling station to appoint as polling station members three people who are in the voting line of the polling station to be installed.
If the table is not set up until 12:00 noon, the coordinator of the ONPE will draw up the record of non-installation of the voting table and will request the signature of the supervising staff of the National Election Jury (JNE)as well as each member of the table and the representatives present who wish to do so.
