Man killed another in Los Girasoles nightclub is sentenced to 20 years

The National District Prosecutor’s Office obtained a sentence of 20 years in prison against a man who killed another with a shot in a nightclub in the sector The sunflowers.

The Fourth Collegiate Courtmade up of judges Emily Bruno, Arisleida Mendez Y Elijah Santinisentenced the defendant Alfredito Rodríguez Aracena (Rafaelito) to serve his sentence in the La Victoria National Penitentiary.

During the hearing, the trial prosecutor Yelianny Polanco presented the testimonial, documentary, expert, illustrative and material evidence, which was evaluated and accepted by the court.

The accusatory file establishes that the event occurred in January 2019, while the victim Wander Saviel Carvajal shared with friends in a nightclub in the aforementioned sector.

The instance details that the husband of a young woman who accompanied the victim appeared at the scene and looked at her with a gesture that he was uncomfortable, which generated a discussion in the group and this caused the security of the establishment to remove him from the place.

Then, the defendant, who was the owner or manager of the nightclub, came out from inside the business with a gun pointed in the direction of the victim and fired two shots, one of which hit him in the head. After committing the act he fled from the place, while the victim was transferred to a hospital in this capital city where he died.

The Public Ministry granted the case the legal classification of homicide and illegal possession of a firearm, crimes provided for and punished in articles 295 and 304-11 of the Dominican Penal Code, and articles 66 and 67 of Law 631-16, to the Control and Arms Regulation ammunition and Related Materials.
