Last Wednesday, the Comptroller announced an audit in the Municipality of Mariano Roque Alonso (MRA), administered by the liberal Carolina Aranda. The financial audit will be carried out on the financial statements of the institution.
For more than a year, our media outlet has been denouncing serious irregularities in the management of its resources with the support of its citizens. Among them Ricardo Torres, from the “Civil Association of Citizen Audit in MRA”.
Torres explained that now, the municipality must designate a nexus. And you have five business days to do so (until Wednesday).
One of the inconsistencies reported by Torres, through our media, was that the commune spent more on salaries than on works during 2021.
During the 12 months of the year, the commune spent G. 9,510 million (US$ 1.4 million) in the “Hired Personnel” category. However, in the “Constructions” category, only G. 1,464 million (US$ 209 thousand) were invested.
What is striking is that the latter reflects a gradual decrease in investment in works in the last three years. Taking into account that in 2019 G. 5,044 million (US$ 719 thousand) were invested and in 2020 G. 2,027 million (US$ 289 thousand) were invested.
