The last Telecommunications Market Report made by the Communications Services Regulatory Unit (Ursec) revealed that Antel increased its advantage over the competition in mobile services.
According to the document for the second half of 2021 closed in December 2021 and disclosed this Thursday, at that time Antel had 47% From the market with 2,225,367 subscriptions. For its part, Movistar owned 1.482,854 (32%) and Claro 983,056 (21%). In the previous report, corresponding to June 2021, Antel’s figure was 46.7%.

Antel had a growth 6.1% year-on-year in the number of mobile services during 2021, growing in 128,913 services and going from 2,096,454 in December 2020 to 2,225,367 in December 2021.
The president of Antel, Gabriel Gurméndez, celebrated the results of the report on his Twitter account. “In a highly competitive market, we reaffirm our leadership and customer preference,” he said.

Of the total subscriptions to mobile services, 4,691,277 (80%) are mobile telephony, 880,969 (15%) are machine-to-machine Y 299,220 (5%) are on mobile internet.
In band wide mobile, Antel has 2,156,646 (61.31%) subscriptions, Movistar with 866,603 (25%) and Claro with 415,222 (12%). This service grew in the last semesterachieving 3,438,471 subscriptions. These are 53,342 more than in the middle of the year.
The Ursec report states that during the second half of 2021 the income from mobile telephony was $11,334,975,893. This meant a growth of $419,938,766 compared to the first half of 2021. Besides, they are the highest income since the first half of 2018.
