The federal government highlighted that the bimonthly pension for older adults is 3,100 pesos, and estimates that in the next three years it will increase to 6,000 pesos.
During the president’s press conference Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the Undersecretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, made a balance of the incorporation program, the list of beneficiaries and the amount that is provided to the elderly.
He mentioned that the pension for the elderly started in 2018 with 1,160 pesos every two months, and for this year it is 3,100 pesos.
For the next three years there will be an increase of 20%; the objective of the president is that the older adults get to receive approximately 6,000 pesos ”, he said.
He pointed out that for this program, in 2018, 43,392 million pesos were invested; in 2019 the investment was 113,467 million; in 2020 of 127,769 million; in 2021 of 154,660 million; and it is estimated that by 2022 it will be 240.00 million; for 2023 of 300,000 million and for the following year, the last year of the current federal government, of 370,000 million pesos.
He mentioned that so far the pension is paid to 8 million 11,787 people over 65 with an investment from January to October of 116,600 million pesos.
He pointed out that as a result of the reincorporation program for new beneficiaries, the list of beneficiary older adults grew by 1 million 350,000 additional older adults.
He highlighted that the new registered in 1,182 poorest municipalities of the country will be deposited three bimonths, and in 361 municipalities of new incorporation two bimonthly, while those who register in the third stage, November-December, will be deposited a two-month period.
He asserted that next year the reincorporation program for new adults over 65 will continue, to reach 2,250,000 new registrations.
He specified that the register of the pension program for the elderly will be 9 million 800,000 people at the end of October, and it is expected that by March-April of next year it will reach 10 million 250,000.
Finally, the Undersecretary said that new beneficiaries can consult on the website, the day, place and time in which they will be able to pick up their beneficiary card.
