“I claim my freedom of opinion on matters of public interest and I prefer to exercise it before finding myself faced with faits accomplis”explained the deputy. “I think the plurality of voices does not weaken the government coalitionbut rather enriches it. For my part, full stop,” he closed his statement.
Pasquet and Ache are members of Ciudadanos, the majority sector of the Colorado Party founded by former Foreign Minister Ernesto Talvi who left politics in 2020.
In an email to the leader of Ciudadanos, Adrian Peña, the deputy foreign minister expressed objections to the leadership of the sector and communicated her concern, and that of her 919 list, about two episodes of “political gravity” that led leaders of the group created by Talvi : the m’s own requestMinister of the Environment so that councilors vote with the Broad Front in favor of the loan to the capital’s mayor of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Pasquet’s request to re-discuss the relevance of the FTA with China, as reported by El País.
In the letter, the vice chancellor questioned that The proposal of the Colorado legislator did not go through the “party instances” and warned that it could “seriously” affect the “interests of the country.” Pasquet had assured The Observer that it was a “personal position”, but that his intention is that the ruling party discusses “thoroughly” the relationship with that country. In any case, according to what the deputy told on his Twitter, the Friday following the publication of the letter to Search, on April 7, where he raised his objections in reference to the FTA, he talked to Ache in his office. “Not only did he not reproach me for anything, but he kindly gave me information on the subject matter”, he remembered.
