At least four dead and five injured in an accident in Jatibonico

Four dead and five injured is the balance so far of an accident that occurred this Wednesday in Jatibonico, Sancti Spíritus, when two trucks collided and one of them went off the road. There is a person trapped between the irons.

As required Escambray, the event occurred around 6:20 am at kilometer 426 of the Central Highway, in the town of El Perico, near the limits with the province of Ciego de Ávila.

Of the injured, according to the source of the Provincial Transit Directorate consulted by the official press, three were already admitted to the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial General Hospital, in Sancti Spíritus.

This newspaper tried to enter the hospital, but was not allowed to enter. “We are waiting for more people,” explained a hospital guard.

Traffic on both routes is stopped while rescue work continues.
