The Ministry of Health reported 1,909 new cases of Covid-19 in Chile, with a positivity rate of 4.04% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after carrying out 43,427 exams, PCR and antigen tests. Daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 5.83%.
The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -8% and -46% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, 13 regions have decreased their cases in the last seven days and all have done so in the last two weeks.
According to the health authority, of the total number of new cases, 35% are diagnosed by antigen tests, 44% originate from Active Case Search (BAC) and 21% of those notified are asymptomatic. As for the Metropolitan Region, it presents 32% due to antigen, 32% due to BAC and 16% of the notified cases are asymptomatic.
According to sample collection, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Magallanes, O’Higgins, Valparaíso and Metropolitana.
Meanwhile, the Magallanes region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Aysén, Valparaíso, and Maule regions.

According to today’s report, of the 1,909 new cases of Covid-19, 1,109 correspond to symptomatic people and 289 have no symptoms. In addition, 511 Positive PCR tests were registered that were not notified.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the virus in the country reaches 3,546,493. Of this total, 10,739 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 3,479,447.
As for deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 0 deaths due to causes associated with the disease because there are no reports of new cases of deaths resulting from a disconnection from the Service system. of Civil Registry. The total number of deceased amounts to 57,375 in the country (same total reported yesterday due to the above).
To date, 263 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 193 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there are a total of 350 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are located.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, the results of 43,427 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported yesterday, reaching a total of 36,755,151 analyzed nationwide to date.
