Palmeiras was better than Corinthians and won 3-0 the Derby valid for the 3rd round of the Brazilian Championship, played this Saturday (23) at Arena Barueri.
IT’S LOGICAL, RIGHT? WRITE THREE POINTS THERE! ✅

This was Timão’s first defeat in the competition, which remained with six points, and could lose the lead in the competition (depending on the result of Atlético-MG’s game, which is still playing this Saturday). For Verdão, the victory represented the arrival to fifth position in the classification, with five points.
Palmeiras started the match better, and managed a two-goal lead in the first half. In the 14th minute, the Paraguayan defender Gustavo Gómez tested perfectly after Raphael Veiga’s corner kick to open the scoring. The second came four minutes later, in a very similar move, a corner from shirt 23 for Rony’s goal.
In the final stage, coach Vítor Pereira made changes to his team, but the scenario changed little, with the maintenance of Verdão’s dominance, which expanded in the 25th minute, when Zé Rafael launched on the right to Dudu, who cut to the middle, getting rid of by Raul Gustavo, and hit from the left to overcome Matheus Donelli.
Now the teams focus on the Copa Libertadores, where Corinthians welcomes the mighty Boca Juniors (Argentina) at Neo Química Arena next Tuesday (26th) and Palmeiras visits Emelec (Ecuador) a day later.
