Colombia: presidente Iván Duque se reunirá con Abinader

The President of Colombia, Iván Duque Márquez, revealed that next week he will travel to Dominican Republic to hold a meeting with President Luis Abinader.

The Colombian head of state offered the information during his participation in the closing of the 15 FIAP Asofunds Congress which is celebrated in the South American country. However, he did not give details of the meeting.

The event addressed issues related to pensions, the economy and investments.

Duque highlighted the importance of democracy and warned that it has threats, in his opinion, populism based on illusions. This, according to the president of Colombia, a practice that occurred throughout Latin America.

He stated that throughout the region they tried to sow ideas based on post-truth. He gave as an example the “false dilemma” that spread with the pandemic that productive activities and health could not coexist.

More than 80 people from seven countries and authorities from the Republic of Colombia participated in the activity.

In addition, the presidential candidates for the elections of that country participated.
