3 people burned and 4 injured left an explosion in Acarigua

Three people were burned to death and 4 were seriously injured during a fire that occurred on the night of Wednesday 19 in a house in the Bosques de Camoruco urbanization, in Acarigua, Portuguesa state.

The incident occurred in house 09-01, where a small family bakery operated. An explosion occurred at the scene, the causes of which are being investigated. The police authorities presume that the origin was due to the accumulation of gases and the manipulation of some drums containing gasoline.

At the time of the fire, 7 people were in the property, including the owner, Miriam Ysbeli Carrasco Primera (42), her son Carlos Alberto Vélez Carrasco (20) and a neighbor and family friend, identified as Marcelo Alejandro Fuentes Madrid (19). ). All 3 died.

The other 4 people have serious burns and were initially taken to the Casal Ramos hospital in Acarigua-Araure, from where they were transferred to Barquisimeto.

Only one of the injured, a 17-year-old boy identified as Juan José Vélez Carrasco, son of the owner of the house, is being treated at said center.

The official report identifies the other 3 injured as José Luis Moreno Quintero (46 years old), baker and local worker; Nancy Carrasco Primera (55 years old), administrator, and Emely Abreu Carrasco (25), doctor. The last two are the sister and niece of the owner of the property.

The house was located in the Bosques de Camoruco urbanization in Portuguesa.
