The financial results of Telefonica of Peru indicate that the company’s total revenues in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to S/ 1,768 million, an increase of 7.8% compared to the same period in 2021.

In the case of the mobile business, at the end of the first three months of this year the company reached 11.3 million mobile accesses, an increase of 2.6% compared to the same period last year. Of this total, 4.5 million are postpaid and 6.8 million prepaid.

In this sense, revenues in the mobile business reached S/ 903 million, an increase of 13% compared to 2021. This result was driven by higher postpaid revenues, which grew by 15.3%, a 42% increase in portability of postpaid origin and updating of the commercial grid. Added to this are revenues from terminal sales, which amounted to S/ 223.1 million.
Fixed Internet and Pay TV
During the first quarter of 2022, the company maintained the leadership of the fixed market with 4.7 million total accesses, of which 1.9 million belong to broadband, 1.3 million to Pay TV and 1.5 million to fixed voice.
In this line, Telefónica registered S/ 865 million in total fixed income, a growth of 2.8%, driven mainly by fixed broadband income, which grew 14.9. Added to this are revenues in the Data and Information Technology category, which increased by 17.3%, the latter consisting mostly of services to the B2B segment.
Quarter Results
The operating result in the first three months of this year improved by S/ 41.7 million compared to the previous year, due to higher revenues from fixed and mobile services. However, this improvement in operating activities was affected by higher financial and other expenses, which generated a quarterly net loss of S/ 197.6 million.
