Juan Rafael Caballero assumed the Legal Directorate of Itaipu on an interim basis. The binational entity still has not defined budget bases for this year, despite the fact that four months have passed.
Pending the approval of the Chamber of Senators, whose constitutional attribution is to grant or not the agreement to the appointments of certain positions, such as those of Paraguayan directors of binational entities, Juan Rafael Caballero González assumed as interim legal director of Itaipú, margin right.
The Paraguayan director general of Itaipu, Manuel María Cáceres, highlighted the trajectory of the new legal director and valued the professional capacity and integrity that characterize him. He pointed out that his contribution will enrich the deliberations in the Entity.
Likewise, he thanked the management of the outgoing director, Magnolia Mendoza, who as an Itaipu employee will continue to provide her services.
For his part, Juan Rafael Caballero thanked the President of the Republic, Mario Abdo Benítez, for his confidence and the opportunity to continue serving Paraguay in a public position. He promised to make the greatest effort to honor the distinction and watch over the country’s interests in the Binational Board of Directors.
Caballero González had been serving as Attorney General of the Republic, a position to which he had been appointed by Decree No. 4,591, dated December 24, 2020.
