Jorge Carbonell, former adviser of Codicen in the government of Jorge Batlle, died

The former counselor of the Central Board of Directors (code) Y General Director of Secondary School during the government of Jorge Battle, Jorge Carbonell, died this Saturday at the age of 78.

The news was communicated by ANEP on social networks in which the organism highlighted the “vast trajectory, commitment and dedication”. “He was the driving force behind profound changes in our education”they pointed out on the Twitter account.

Jorge Carbonell had a long career at ANEP. He began as a Mathematics teacher and culminated as General Director of Secondary (2000-2005). Before He was an inspector, counselor of the Codicen and also of Secondary. From this last role he had to promote the resisted reform of 96, devised by the then president of Codicen, Germán Rama. The scenario pitted the toughest trade unionists.
