Socialist Unit: PS is grouped in a single list for its next internal elections

With political personalities such as the former candidate for senator for the Metropolitan Region, Paulina Vodanovic; former senator Juan Pablo Letelier and former president of the Camilo Escalona political store, Socialist Unit will be the only list that will seek to stay with the board of directors headed today by Senator Álvaro Elizalde.

As stated Third, there are 110 members of the Central Committee of the Socialist Party (PS) who will elect the new leader on May 8. And until now the strongest card to assume the presidency of the party would be that of the senator for the Los Ríos Region, Alfonso de Urresti.

It is worth mentioning that, according to the party’s bases, the candidate who obtains the most votes within the winning list will rise as the new helmsman of the PS.

The decision to go together in a single list was made after this Thursday, April 7, the deadline for the Socialists to register the candidacies expired.

In Socialist Unity the New Left, El Tercerismo, Grandes Alamedas, La Renovación and the Socialist Collective were grouped.

Two other lists, which would appear only testimonial, would have been registered for the elections in which the party’s Central Committee will elect the board that will replace the current table.
