The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported this Wednesday that the Public Ministry through the Environment Directorate requested before the corresponding Courts a precautionary measure of an environmental nature for the Waraira Repano National Park.
The information was released by the Attorney General of the Republic through his account on the social network Twitter: @TarekWilliamSaab, where he indicated that said measure is requested in order to incorporate the security forces, as well as the corresponding bodies and entities in the protection of the National Park and thus avoid forest fires, such as those that occurred this weekend.
Last Sunday, a forest fire was registered in the Elephant Head sector of the Waraira Repano National Park, which was controlled by members of the forest fire brigades, Civil Protection, Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), as well as by park rangers and volunteers.
Given this, the sectoral vice president for Citizen Security and Peace, A/J Remigio Ceballos, stressed that the National Government is working on strengthening the Control and Monitoring System of the Waraira Repano National Park, located in Caracas.
“Nicolás Maduro has given us a plan to strengthen the control and monitoring of the park. New equipment was donated today to strengthen the actions of our officials,” Ceballos said during a phone call to the Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) channel.
In addition, he indicated that they will incorporate the use of autonomous vehicles, as well as security cameras in order to prevent and recognize this type of event in time.
