The Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago decided to sentence Daniel Goldberger Garces with a sentence of 541 days for the threats made against the head of High Complexity of the Central North Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office, Ximena Chongin October 2020.
In addition, the conditional suspension of the procedure was carried out on three defendants for the same case, added to the decision of the prosecutor in charge of the investigation, Francisco Jacirto bring to trial Paul Martinez -another investigated in the case-, for the accusation of illegal possession of weapons that weighs on him.

Threats to prosecutor Chong
It should be noted that on October 6, 2022, the defendants went to the prosecutor’s home, located in the Providencia district, leaving a letter for her son in which they threatened to kill her.
The incident took place days after Chong participated in the hearing that formalized the former police officer, Sebastian Zamora, accused of having pushed a teenager into the Mapocho River as part of the demonstrations of the social outbreak.
Prosecutor Jacir determined that the planning of the threats took place in an office located at Calle Apoquindo #6550, Las Condes district. This place was raided on November 26 of the same year by the BIPE of the PDI, the suspects of the crime were also arrested.
Conditional suspension of the procedure
At the hearing, the conditional suspension of the procedure for Paula Andrea Narvaez, who was another of the defendants in the case. According to the investigation, she indicated that she was unaware of the writing and subsequent delivery of the letter against prosecutor Chong.
The defense attorney, the former prosecutor, John Paul Bonocuorepointed out that “prosecutor Jacir carried out an exhaustive investigation regarding the facts and the participants. However, my client, who always assured her innocence, as of today was conditionally suspended with the prohibition of approaching the victim for the term of two years”.
“The offer made by the Prosecutor’s Office regarding Narváez is based mainly on the fact that she was never aware of the existence of that threatening letter, but only after the events occurred,” added the defense.
The conditional suspension of the procedure was also accepted Osvaldo Maximo Urcola Diaz-Valdes and Benjamin Morelos Zaragoza Wotherspoon.
