The Attorney General’s Office opened a disciplinary investigation against the National Registrar, Alexander Vega, for the alleged irregularities that were committed in the electoral process on March 13 when Congress was elected of the Republic.
The disciplinary investigations are focused on determining whether Vega would have incurred in a possible excess of functions “by requiring biometric identification of voters”, and possible irregularities regarding a conflict of interest in the hiring of the company Indra Sistemas, in charge of that electoral process.

The Attorney General’s Office is also investigating a possible omission of Vega’s functions regarding the operation, transparency, and lack of training for voting juries.
“Omission in their functions in relation to making decisions aimed at avoiding irregularities and carrying out due surveillance and control in the pre-counting of votes, in accordance with their functional duties. Non-compliance with their functions due to deficiencies, shortcomings or omission in the training of voting jurors”, says the Attorney General’s Office.
