Through the Padrino Empresario program, 774 adolescents at social risk have benefited from the sum of 940,190 balboas in the form of scholarships and job training; This was revealed by the Minister of Social Development, María Inés Castillo, who explained that this figure has been given from 2019 to date.

Castillo stressed that this initiative allows students between the ages of 15 and 17 to continue their studies, and through job preparation within the structure of companies.

He stressed that the program has been operating in the country for 35 years and has benefited more than 25,000 adolescents, with scholarships amounting to 14 million balboas and that currently more than 38 companies participate in it; of which 17 joined this cause in the post pandemic.

Minister Castillo indicated that some 12,484 elementary, middle and high school students dropped out of school in 2018.
