The New Peru movement decided to remove from his presidency Anahi Durand this Thursday, April 7, after learning that the former Minister of Women held a consultancy Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM). The organization’s National Political Commission took this measure after its former president made her position available.
The leadership of New Peru decided to ask Durand to resign from the consultancy in the PCM or to the presidency of the political movement. In response, the former minister decided to put her position at her disposal. After that, the Political Commission decided to remove her from her position, considering it incompatible with her role in the Executive.
Anahí Durand: New Peru “is no longer useful to the Peruvian popular classes”
Through a statement, Anahi Durand confirmed that “days ago” he accepted the invitation of Hannibal Torres to return to the Executive. “If it is a popular government that must be relaunched, then it is coherent to work on the Condition that he tries to direct,” explained the former minister about her decision. Likewise, she considered as “a strategic error” that New Peru has been incorporated into the “opposition camp already cornered by the right.”

“I accept the decision (of) New Peru and leave a party that I helped foundbut today it is no longer useful to the Peruvian popular classes”, lamented Durand at the end of your statement. He also assured that “the continuity of a certain government is not at risk, but rather the return of authoritarianism and an overloaded neoliberalism.”
After the first round of the 2021 presidential elections, the New Peru decided to join the campaign peter castle.
