Edith Purtschert, who arrived in Ecuador with her husband Óskar from Switzerland in February 1949, will be buried tomorrow.
The general management of the Ecuadorian company Floralp, specialized in cheeses, announced that Mrs. Edith purtschert, co-founder of the company passed away on the night of November 9, 2021.
According to information from the company, the businesswoman died in complete tranquility in the company of her loved ones. The vigil for the remains is scheduled to begin at noon today (November 10), while the mass and funeral will take place from 11:00 on November 11.
Mrs Purtschert She arrived in Ecuador in February 1949 in the company of her husband Óskar, who by then was already a cheese master in his native Switzerland. Both were attending to a proposal to come to the country with a two-year contract.
They had the idea to do cheeses ripe, but the market for this type of product was not developed in the country. They decide, then, to go to Argentina, but first they meet the Ecuadorian president of that time, Galo Plaza Lasso, who convinces them to stay and make their products at his Zuleta farm.
