The Corumbá IV Production System was inaugurated today (6th), which is expected to supply about 1.3 million inhabitants of the Federal District (DF) and Goiás with treated water.
The opening ceremony took place at the end of the morning at the Corumbá Water Treatment Station, in Luziânia (GO) and was attended by the governors of the Federal District, Ibaneis Rocha, and of Goiás, Ronaldo Caiado.
According to the DF government, the Corumbá System comes to meet the need to adopt new sources of water supply for the region, given the growth of the population.

The new system reinforces and expands the supply of treated water in the southern region of the Federal District, which includes the cities of Santa Maria, Gama, Recanto das Emas and Riacho Fundo II, in addition to areas in the process of consolidation such as the Ponte de Terra Housing Sector and the Meirelles Sector.
In addition, the work will also indirectly benefit the entire western portion of the DF and the city of Águas Lindas de Goiás, with the generation of surpluses in the Discovered System.
In Goiás, the municipalities of Luziânia, Valparaíso de Goiás, Cidade Ocidental and Novo Gama will also benefit.
The work was carried out by Companhia de Saneamento Ambiental do Distrito Federal (Caesb) and Companhia Saneamento de Goiás S/A (Saneago). The two companies built the raw water pipeline for the system, consisting of a steel pipe with a diameter of 1.2 meters and a capacity of 2,800 liters/second.
According to the GDF, 12.3 kilometers (km) of piping were built next to the water intake, under the responsibility of Saneago, and 15.4 km to the Corumbá Water Treatment Station, carried out by Caesb.
