Monsignor Ulloa on Holy Week: ‘After two years, this year we will once again publicly express our faith’

Monsignor Ulloa revealed that most of the religious acts will take place in the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María La Antigua, in Casco Antiguo.

The Metropolitan Archbishop, José Domingo Ulloa, provided details this Wednesday about the acts that the Catholic Church will carry out during the days of Holy Week.

He expressed that, “after two years of the pandemic, we can communicate with joy and hope that this year we will meet again to publicly express our faith.”

He added that this meeting must be held responsibly. “We cannot neglect ourselves now that we have signs of controlling the contagion, that is why we recommend all those who are going to publicly participate in the liturgical acts to respect biosecurity measures, above all, the use of masks, even in open places; especially in processions and mass activities”, he remarked.

Monsignor Ulloa revealed that most of the religious acts will take place in the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María La Antigua, in Casco Antiguo.

This Sunday, April 10, known as Palm Sunday, he explained that he will hold two celebrations in said cathedral. “One at 8:00 am and another at 11:00 am with the blessing of palms and a small procession around the Cathedral Park.”
