Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner posted on social networks a photo of the National Congress illuminated with the colors of the Argentine flag, on the eve of the 40th anniversary of the Gesta de Malvinas, which will be commemorated this Saturday throughout the country with various activities.
“Now the Congress of the Nation, illuminated with the colors of the Homeland, accompanying the vigil on the eve of the 40th anniversary of Malvinas,” wrote the head of the Senate of the Nation on her official account on the social network Twitter, and accompanied that message of two photos that show the Congress illuminated in blue and white from different angles.
Under the slogan “Malvinas unites us”, the national government will carry out a series of events throughout the country to remember the 40 years of the war, honor the fallen and veterans, and reaffirm the sovereign right over the islands.

For his part, President Alberto Fernández will head the official ceremony at the Malvinas and South Atlantic Islands Museum, which is located on the former ESMA site, at 12:30 pm tomorrow.
During this act, the flag will be raised simultaneously with different parts of the country: Ushuaia, Chaco, Rosario, Malvinas Argentinas, Bariloche and Salta; and there will be a special closing with a performance of the song “I only ask God.”
In addition, the singer, former Malvinas combatant and survivor of the ARA Gral. Belgrano cruise ship, Darío Volonté, will perform the song “Aurora”, and the singer Dolores Solá will perform a version of the Argentine National Anthem.
Meanwhile, the vice president and head of the Senate, Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, and the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Massa, will lead an act at 4:00 p.m. in the Blue Room of the Upper House, in which they will deliver diplomas of distinction to the former Malvinas combatants who work in the National Congress.
Then, on the esplanade of the building located on Entre Ríos street, there will be a concert by the Congress Chamber Orchestra, the Library choir and guest artists; and later, a historical mapping of the Malvinas Islands will be projected on the Palace’s façade.
