Salazar, who has dedicated his entire life to the mining industry, said he is a firm believer in responsible mining.
The engineer and mining expert, Carlos Salazar, referred earlier to the implications of reviving the concession in the old Remance mine in Veraguas and the negotiation that the National Government has had with the Panama Mining Company.
He asserted that the laws of the Mineral Resources Code and the General Environmental Law have been flagrantly violated and the authorities were informed before reviving said concession.
“The mining industry cannot manage to function responsibly as we want to do, if there are no officials who themselves respect the laws of the Mineral Resources Code and the General Environmental Law,” he specified.
Salazar, who has dedicated his entire life to the mining industry, said that he is a faithful believer in responsible mining, “in mining with the latest technology, that respects the three fundamental concepts that are the environment, the economy and the social conditions of the communities. ”.
The expert declared: “The Ministry of Commerce, instead of deepening the investigations, what it does is revive and reward those who violated the General Environmental Law by carrying out exploration studies without an environmental impact study. We are facing an illegality”.
