The National Planning Department (DNP) revealed that in 2021 the net profits of the ecompanies of the nation they increased eight times their value: they went from $6.3 trillion in 2020 to $20.6 trillion in 2021.
Accordingly, the amount of profits to be distributed went from COP 855,000 million to COP 11.6 billion, showing the results of the recovery of the economy.

As announced by the DNP, the National Council for Economic and Social Policy (Conpes) approved document 4074 in which it reviewed the utilities that could be distributed. Of that total of $20.6 trillion, $9 trillion will be allocated to the constitution of reserves (legal, fiscal and statutory and other deductions) and $11.6 billion will be distributed as dividends.
The entity highlighted that, in particular, ecopetrol will put in consideration of the General Assembly of Shareholders the proposal of distribution of dividends for $11.5 billion, of which, to the Nation, as majority shareholder, corresponds to $10.2 billion.

From Conpes, it was defined that the maximum payment date will be April 21, 2022 for 100% of the ordinary and extraordinary dividends of minority shareholders. Meanwhile, for the majority shareholder, the payment will begin on April 21, 2022 and will have a maximum date of September 30, 2022.

These profits exclude the Bicentennial Group, created to manage the public financial service: of a net income of $2 billion, it was determined that $684,000 million will be transferred to the Nation no later than December 16.
It is worth mentioning that these resources that are turned over to the Nation will be used to finance the budget for the current term.
