The General Director of Education at Meduca, Guillermo Alegría, analyzed the start of the school year in Panama, after two years of virtual and distance education due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He made reference to the classrooms where there is an overpopulation of students, arguing that in some schools it is due to the migration of students from private schools to the official ones.
“There are educational centers in the eastern part of the country and others that are building modular classrooms, precisely because of the large number of students who have gone to enroll and that is also due to the construction of neighborhoods where the population has grown, and those educational centers that are around these new neighborhoods were not taken into consideration,” he stressed.
He stated that there has been a migration of around 16 thousand students who come from the private sector to the official one.
