The coordinators of Health Surveillance (Covisa) and Health and Protection of Domestic Animals (Cosap), from the city of São Paulo, closed a clandestine fair that sold animals in Itaquera, on the east side of the city. Action, held yesterday (6), rescued 50 cats, rabbits and dogs.
Tents and products that were being illegally traded in the area were also seized. According to the Municipal Health Department, the sale of animals can only take place in regularized establishments with an invoice.
The animals were fed, hydrated and cared for by veterinarians. They will be registered, vaccinated, neutered and underwent implants of microchip to be referred for adoption.
