Gynecologist Diana Pittí Cifuentes: “There is a 95% prevention of cervical cancer when women are vaccinated”

On the occasion of the World Day for the Prevention of Cervical Cancer, which is celebrated this Saturday, March 26, the gynecologist-obstetrician, Diana Pittí Cifuentes, addressed the issue of the application of the vaccine against the human papillomavirus (HPV) in girls.

It revealed that there is a 95% prevention of cervical cancer when the woman is with her complete vaccination schedule (of the papilloma).

He said that currently an increase in cases of this type of cancer is being seen, despite the fact that this vaccination exists at the public system level and the increase has been registered in young women.

HPV is the cause of 99% of cervical cancer.

He recalled the use of condoms and this is essential for prevention.
