Cases of homicides, robberies and thefts increased in the month of February in the state of São Paulo. Rape and robberies dropped. The data, released today (25), are from the Public Security Secretariat of the State of São Paulo.
The number of intentional homicides increased by 2% in February, rising from 227 cases in February 2021 to 232 in the same month this year. The number of victims of this crime also increased, from 239 to 245. In the case of robberies, there was an increase from 12 cases to 17. Thefts in general increased by 13.3%, totaling 39,765 police reports.
Fall
Robberies fell by 4.4%. The indicator went from 18,983 cases in February 2021 to 18,153 – 830 less occurrences – in February 2022. Rape cases fell from 983 in February last year to 931 last month.
