The Ministry of the Interior carried out a record burning of drugs. According to a portfolio statement, “On this occasion, 7,940 kg of narcotic substances were destroyed.”
Of that sum, 5,810 kg corresponded to base paste and cocaine, and 2,130 kg to marijuanaaffirms the text of this Thursday.
“The value of what was burned wholesale -he explains- exceeds 47,620,000 dollars”, indicates.
It also points out that “It is the fourth important burning that is carried out in this administration.”
In 2020 there were three. In May they burned “7,500 kilos of cocaine”. In June, “2,813 kilos of marijuana and 2,573 kilos of cocaine”. And in Decemberalso from the same year, “1,555 kilos of marijuana and 1,075 kilos of cocaine were burneda,” the statement said.
In this way, says the Ministry, with the four occasions “a total of 23,456 kilos” of narcotics were burned.
