Uruguay registered this Friday 235 new cases of coronavirus on a total of 10,231 tests, reported the National Emergency System (Sinae). The positivity rate was 2.2%, although duplicate tests are also included in some people.
What’s more, there were two deaths in the last 24 hours of patients with covid-19; they were two people aged 61 and 77, who lived in Tacuarembó and Artigas. Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 6,084 deaths have been diagnosed with the disease in Uruguay.
There are 2,373 active cases across the country and 24 people are in intensive care centers, according to the official report. Of the total positive cases, 110 correspond to health personnel.
All departments report infected people this Friday, and Montevideo leads the list of assets with 1,052. They are followed by Canelones (437), Maldonado (176), Lavalleja (133) and Tacuarembó (131), among others.
Of the 235 new cases, 93 were from Montevideo, 46 from Canelones, 24 from Maldonado, 19 from Tacuarembó, 15 from Treinta y Tres, 10 from Colonia, nine from Lavalleja, nine from Rocha, three from Florida, three from Soriano, two from Paysandú, one from Rivera and one from Salto.
